STARBoards Showcase Team Spirit
Teams across Cape Cod Healthcare bring the STAR values to life through creativity, connection and meaningful recognition.
Over the past month, the STAR Committee rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the 10 teams who rose to the top in the recent STARBoard competition. The winning teams created an inspiring display of teamwork, pride and appreciation across Cape Cod Healthcare.
During STAR Recognition Week Nov. 10-14, CCHC teams were invited to created recognition spaces, such as bulletin boards, walls or shared areas, where peer-to-peer recognition comes to life. Through notes of appreciation, photos and creative displays, teams highlighted moments of Service, Teamwork, Accountability and Respect, turning everyday recognition into something visible and shared. They then submitted their photos by November 14.
“These STARBoards reflect more than creativity,” says Bridget Torres, STAR Committee Chair. “They show how teams live our values and support one another every day. That kind of recognition strengthens our culture and our patient experience.”
Forty-two teams across the system participated in the STARBoard Contest, bringing creativity and appreciation to life through colorful designs and heartfelt messages of gratitude. Each board reflected the unique culture of the team behind it and how STAR values show up in everyday work. Award winners were selected by newly hired team members during New Hire Orientation, offering a meaningful first look at a culture rooted in teamwork, appreciation and values in action.
The Top Ten STAR Team Spirit Award winners include: Cape Cod Hospital Lab; Cape Cod Hospital OB-GYN; Clinical Resources Team; Falmouth Inpatient Pharmacy; Falmouth Hospital Lab Services Team; Falmouth Orthopedics Team; General & Thoracic Surgery Team; Information Technology Team; Mashpee Primary Care; and Yarmouth Primary Care. These STAR Boards didn’t just stand out visually—they told the story of how each team supports one another and celebrates shared success.
That momentum continues into 2026 with expanded opportunities through the STAR Values Award Program, alongside the monthly STAR Team Member Award. Teams are encouraged to continue building and sharing recognition spaces as part of everyday team life.
