Yellow lab rescued from hot car parked at Cape Cod Hospital

On a very hot summer day in July, Michael Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, coordinated the emergency rescue effort of a yellow lab trapped in a locked vehicle after a local couple alerted him to the dire situation. The dog, named Sandy, was eventually rescued from the SUV parked in the Cape Cod Hospital parking lot and made a full recovery. “Sandy is alive and well today thanks to Mike Bachstein, Frank Riccio, Craig Bayer and the lovely couple who saved this dog,” said Lauf.
Falmouth Girl Scouts make donation to Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation

Thank you to Falmouth Girl Scout 6th Grade Cadette Troop 82179, who recently made a donation of $175 to the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, specifically for Hospice and Palliative Care. The troop donated a portion of the proceeds from sales of Girl Scout cookies.
Falmouth ER staff thankful for special delivery

Team members at the Falmouth Hospital Emergency Room received a surprise delivery from Michael Lauf. They were treated to sandwiches, chips, salads, drinks and dessert. “We are grateful when our hard work is recognized especially after an eventful summer,” says Rebekah Day, Chief Nursing Officer at Falmouth Hospital. The ER staff shared their gratitude by sending in this fun picture!
Golf tournament raises $22,000 for Cuda

Cape Cod National’s Tee It Up for a Cure charity golf tournament in Brewster on August 24 raised nearly $22,000 to support the Cuda Women’s Health Center at Cape Cod Healthcare. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Kudos to Suffolk Construction for assisting CCH nurse

Senior project manager Dayne DeSerres of Suffolk Construction wanted to give a shout-out to Superintendent Mark Dowdall and Labor Foreman Chris Suriani for helping one of the night nurses at Cape Cod Hospital who had just completed a 12-hour shift. Her car wouldn’t start because she didn’t have enough gas. “They jumped right on it and lent her a hand,” said DeSerres.
