Patient receives exceptional care over several months at Cape Cod Hospital
Dear Mr. Lauf,
From December 25 until March 1, I have had seven Emergency Room visits with six admissions and several surgical procedures. I think you should know, and be proud of the fact, that you are at the helm of a remarkable institution.
During all my visits to Cape Cod Hospital’s ER and stays on units following being admitted, I was given exceptional care. Every staff member, from housekeeping up to the surgical teams and everyone in between, conducted themselves with such kindness and professionalism. Everyone is to be applauded given the difficult tasks that they encounter on a daily basis. Whether it being a nurse, aide, lab tech, CT scan or MRI personnel, food service or someone simply transporting me to a unit, I was treated in such a way that you should be very proud to call them your people.
I was on two Mugar floors, two South floors and even on the overflow unit, and everyone that I interacted with, during all shifts, were wonderful.
I just thought you and they should know how much their care was appreciated as I’m sure they and you aren’t told enough about the good work you all provide for the people of Cape Cod.

Treated like a VIP by cardiology staff at Cape Cod Hospital
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the cardiology lab staff for my heart catheterization on April 2, 2024. From the time I entered the front door at Cape Cod Hospital to check in and throughout the entire procedure I was treated as a VIP. The RN who prepped me before the procedure, the entire surgical team, and the RNs who cared for me after the procedure were all amazing. I would recommend anyone considering or requiring cardiac care to put Cape Cod Hospital first on their list!

Grateful for excellent care at CCH’s Emergency Room
Dear Emergency Department,
My husband, Hugh Kilmartin, was given excellent care at the Cape Cod Hospital’s Emergency Department. I am happy to report he is recovering very well from a concussion and a broken tooth. I am very grateful to Dr. Crowell and Makayla, RN, for their wonderful care. I can’t recommend Cape Cod Hospital highly enough.

Husband and wife impressed with compassionate care at Cuda
I had the pleasure of speaking with Mary Amabile’s husband, Edward, about their experience with Cuda Women’s Health Center and Cape Cod Hospital. Edward said that Mary began her journey in April after a new diagnosis, and they were so impressed with the entire team working to help Mary. He began talking about Dr. Oxley, stating, “she is so incredibly skilled and just an excellent person.” He shared that as a retired manager in the service industries, he always watches systems to see if “they come together or fall apart,” and he said they experienced a well-orchestrated team filled with compassion. He went on to say, “there was always somebody at the right place at every moment from Cuda to the kind pre-op nurse to the wonderful nurse who took Mary to the car after surgery. These people are so great, and I know they don’t always get the credit they deserve from patients and families, so I want them to know we think they are 5-star all around and I share my accolades with everyone we speak to. Thank you so much from Mary and Edward.

Kudos to Cape Cod Hospital ER and top-level management
Dear Mr. Lauf,
I was taken by ambulance from my home in Brewster because of a breathing issue/pulmonary edema. Fluid built up, surrounding my lungs. I am writing to praise your Emergency Room.
I was assessed immediately, by no less than five medical professionals. Tests were administered and results were as quick as could be. I was transferred to an overnight private room on the third floor. I have stayed in nice hotels that were not as user-friendly as the accommodations I experienced.
The food from room service was excellent and the care I received from the staff was exemplary.
I can’t say enough good things about your cardiac unit and your maternity center (all three of my children were born there) and now the ER!
Kudos to you for your top-level management and continued improvement.

Top-notch staff and care at Cape Cod Hospital
I am writing to express my gratitude for the wonderful care I was given during my recent stay at Cape Cod Hospital. I was in Room N25 with a bleeding ulcer. All my caregivers, from nurses to CNAs to doctors, were excellent. I want to mention one person in particular, Angela, who was especially kind and skilled at caring for me.
