New Year, New Focus
CCHC employees share New Year’s resolutions and how they’re resetting in 2026, from strengthening connections and prioritizing wellness to decluttering, practicing gratitude and embracing fresh perspectives.
My New Year's Resolution is more like a New Year’s Adventure. My sister and I have made a commitment to rally each other with a scheduled check-in once a week. We are writing out our goals and obstacles to share with each other so we can help each other succeed.
Victoria Donovan
ROI Specialist, Physician Billing (MACC)
My resolution is to continue monthly Face Time with my dear friend Betsy, who lives in Baltimore. We met each other in seventh grade and became fast friends because we were both 5’9” already! We have been in and out of each other’s lives for years, but we are committed to seeing each other (at least on a screen) on a regular basis this year.

My New Year’s resolution for this year is to focus on being more present. In situations where the days schedule is unpredictable and subject to change without notice, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and miss out on valuable experiences and meaningful moments. To combat this, I’ve decided to allocate my time evenly between my two units, allowing me to connect with staff members and appreciate the efforts they put forth daily for patients and colleagues alike.

Nurse Manager
Mugar 4 and South 2, Cape Cod Hospital
To purge “STUFF” accumulated throughout my life including mementos, tangibles from loved one’s estates, excessive emails and photos. I have too much “STUFF.” Donate, pass it on, wipe it out and unload it all from the attic, the garage, every room and bookcase, too, from my computers, as well as my phone. Embarrassing as it sounds, I’ve already purged close to 7,000 old emails this week! I'm focused to do it! Did you ever look in your “SENT” file here at work and in Outlook—scary!!
Julie Keene, CPC
MACC Coder
This year, my resolution is to intentionally shift my mindset toward growth, self-compassion and gratitude. I am committing to daily positive affirmations that reinforce my worth, strength and belief in myself.
Shauna Byrnes
CMA (MACC)
My resolution for 2026 is to attend more yoga classes—it feels good, is good for me, and I’m lucky I have my sister as my yoga buddy!
Brendeign Covell
Rehab Manager, Sleep EEG
Physical Therapy – Outpatient
Falmouth Hospital
My New Year’s resolution this year is that I’m not going to worry about any resolutions! Furthermore, I’m going to completely stop thinking about things that are out of my control. I’m going to dedicate more time toward things that I enjoy doing (including traveling) and say more “NO” to things I don’t enjoy doing. I look at it as a big reset—that’s my resolution.
Darijan Suton
Wellness Program Manager
HR Services
In 2026, I’m committing to leveling up my health and wellness by building accountability and discipline—one step at a time. My goal is to incorporate morning movement, nourish my body with balanced meals and track my progress so I can celebrate wins along the way. I’ll make it fun by incorporating my dog into my daily movement and trying to remember that small, steady actions add up to big results!
Lauren Gendron
Social Media & Marketing Specialist
My New Year’s Resolution came by way of a blessing. Our first grandbaby was born shortly after the new year. My resolution is to spend as much time as possible watching this little guy grow to be happy and healthy throughout the coming year!
Colleen Pino
Executive Director, JML
I will, to the best of my capabilities, participate in the CCHC wellness program walking challenges. I will hike at least once per week and will keep my weight/cholesterol under control.
Ricardo Novoa
Engagement Specialist Case Manager
Cape Cod Human Services
Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, I am focusing on setting simple and meaningful intentions. To show up with compassion, listen more and remember that how we care for one another truly matters. It’s something I’m committing to myself and something I hope we can each bring into our work and our everyday moments in 2026.
