Major League Fun: Celebrating Our Team at the Ballpark
From first pitches to family fun, two employee appreciation nights at Cape Cod Baseball League games brought joy, connection and camaraderie to the stands.
On two blue-sky evenings, Cape Cod Healthcare hosted unforgettable employee appreciation events at the ballpark—on Tuesday, July 15, at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, and Friday, July 18, at the Judy Walden Scarafile Field at McKeon Park in Hyannis.
At the Harwich Mariners game, Boston Celtics star Payton Pritchard threw out the first pitch, drawing cheers and excitement from the crowd. But at the Hyannis Harbor Hawks game, we had our own STAR pitcher on the mound: Gloria Calle, who provides administrative support in the ICU at Cape Cod Hospital. Gloria, who was joined by members of the Cape Cod Hospital oncology team, was honored and excited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch—describing it a moment she felt “so blessed” to experience. Gloria is one of several outstanding employees recently recognized with a STAR Award, an honor that celebrates those who go above and beyond in their roles, and reflects the values of Service, Teamwork, Accountability and Respect.
Both evenings brought picture-perfect weather and an amazing turnout of Cape Cod Healthcare employees, who attended with friends and family. These relaxing summer nights were filled with team spirit, connection and plenty of fun—from giveaways like lip balm and cooling towels to commemorative T-shirts and great conversations at our CCHC info table.
