Employees at Work — and Play — at Cape Cod Healthcare Employees at Work — and Play — at Cape Cod Healthcare

The final phase of Cape Cod Healthcare’s year-long employer branding campaign features Dr. Sean Rumrill, CNA Donna Smith Barrett, Dr. Marcial Santos and Nurse/Clinical Trainer Nicole Almas.

The 2023 recruitment campaign featured different CCHC team members representing what is so unique and special about Cape Cod Healthcare: the ability to work – and play – on Cape Cod. Many thanks to all 22 Team Members across the system who participated in this campaign and for being great brand ambassadors for CCHC!

In the final rollout, meet Dr. Sean Rumrill, General Surgeon; Donna Smith Barrett, Certified Nursing Assistant; Dr. Marcial Santos, Primary Care Physician; and Nicole Almas, RN, Clinical Trainer.

Dr. Sean Rumrill - General Surgeon | Cape Cod Healthcare

Meet Dr. Sean Rumrill, a General Surgeon who has been with Cape Cod Healthcare for over two years years — and a fan of sharing good times around a backyard fire with family and friends.

“My journey with medicine started a long time ago,” says Dr. Rumrill. “When I was a child and diagnosed with Crohn’s disease ... my life was actually saved by a general surgeon. When I was re-evaluating my life as an adult, and figuring out where I wanted the direction of my life to go, and how I wanted to affect people, it was the general surgeon that saved my life who made the biggest impact. And that is what ultimately led me to the career path of being a physician.”

Donna - Certified Nursing Assistant | Cape Cod Healthcare

Meet Donna Smith Barrett, a Certified Nursing Assistant who has been with Cape Cod Healthcare for over five years – and a lover of celebrating special occasions at her favorite local spot.

“I work on Mugar 3 at Cape Cod Hospital and I’ve got the best set of nurses and CNAs,” says Smith Barrett. “We look out for each other and we help each other. It doesn’t matter what the situation is or how busy you are – someone will say, ‘Hey, can you give me a hand here?’ We help each other. ‘Can you get my patient some water?’ We’re there. The teamwork that we have on Mugar 3 – it’s a blessing.”

Dr. Marcial Santos - Primary Care Physician | Cape Cod Healthcare

Meet Dr. Marcial Santos, a Primary Care Physician who has been with Cape Cod Healthcare for over 18 years - and a marathoner who discovered his passion for running and training on the roads of the Cape.

“I like to be outdoors; I like to spend time with my family,” says Dr. Santos. “About seven years ago, I got into running. For me, that was a new passion and I enjoy running different parts of the Cape to train for a marathon. I also love to bike – my family and I love to take the Shining Sea Bikeway to go to Woods Hole for lunch. What a great opportunity that life has given to us.”

Nicole - Registered Nurse and Clinical Trainer | Cape Cod Healthcare

Meet Nicole Almas, a Registered Nurse and Clinical Trainer who has been with Cape Cod Healthcare for over six years - and a horseback rider who enjoys spending time with her trusted partner, Remy.

“Before nursing, I worked in retail and one of my loved ones became sick,” says Almas. “That really changed the course of my career. I decided to take a chance on becoming a nurse, and here I am six years later, enjoying Cape Cod Healthcare and the opportunities that it has afforded my family.”
