The new STAR Team Member Recognition Program kicked off last month with award presentations celebrating five outstanding CCHC Team Members who go “above and beyond” in their roles.

Nominated by a committee comprised of leadership, management and peers, these individuals demonstrate exceptional effort in dependability, promote a positive and productive work environment and foster innovative ideas.

At each presentation at their workplace, STAR team members were presented with an awards package: a STAR Balloon bouquet, $100 Amazon gift card, Hershey’s bar and candy jar and STAR ID lanyard. During the celebrations, department teams expressed enthusiasm in honor of the well-deserved recipients.

Below are some quotes from committee members highlighting the recipients’ willingness to help coworkers, come in on their days off and their commitment to the STAR core values of Service Teamwork Accountability and Respect. Every month, leadership will honor stellar Team Members and awards will be presented throughout the CCHC organization.

Congratulations to the March winners! Enjoy clicking through the slideshow of photos showcasing recipients at the award presentations.

Kristin Visco’s entire medical oncology team at Cape Cod Hospital took part in presenting her well-deserved award.

Tara Chute, MD, OB/GYN, Cape Cod Hospital

“She begins early in the morning and continues into the wee hours of the night (sometimes all night) to make sure her patients are informed, comforted and cared for. She does not stop until all messages, visits and calls are completed with the utmost care, compassion and professionalism.”

Susan Dunn, Medical Assistant, Falmouth Hospital Pain Center:

“On a daily basis, our patients compliment Sue on her compassion, her friendliness, the respect that she shows for their individual situations and perspectives and the overall patient care that she delivers.”

Lauren McCaskey, Primary RN, Visiting Nurse Association

“Lauren came in on her day off to bring ostomy suppliers to a patient who was just discharged from the hospital without. While she was there, she offered to stay and assist me with a complicated wound vac she was familiar with … on her day off!”

Kristin Visco, Oncology Medical Assistant, Cape Cod Hospital

“Kristen just makes it happen every day, helping team members and going out of her way to make sure that no matter what the task is, she does her part and then some. Kristen doesn’t hesitate to jump in and room any patient who needs to be roomed, cover coworkers whenever needed without complaint.”

Maria Tarini, Financial Services Accounting Associate, Cape Cod Hospital

“She is our go-to person for everything from computer glitches to financial productivity report. She tutors our patients on how to use the video capability in Epic, and even does minor repairs on our copy machines. She is always willing to help other staff when they are struggling to complete work in Epic, whether that be a scheduling issue or clinical visit documentation.”
