Cape Cod Hospital staff 'restored my faith in medicine'
Dear Cape Cod Hospital,
I would like to thank everyone at Cape Cod Hospital for the excellent care that I received during my recent hospitalization from August 21 to August 24. I am a Level 1 Trauma Neurosurgeon in Connecticut and I have always been a tough critic, but there was not one interaction that was less than stellar. The physicians are the most talented group of young women (and man) I have ever encountered. They couldn’t have listened more carefully, handled me more professionally, been more respectful or gracious about allowing my input and they restored my faith in medicine and the rest of the staff restored my faith in humanity.
I suffered a stroke and my aphasia is preventing me from remembering everyone’s names, but Sarah O’Neill and all the RNs on MB3 were wonderful as were all the case managers, nursing assistants, social workers, therapists and housekeepers. It’s incredibly rare to not have one thing be less than perfect, but Cape Cod Hospital achieved just that with my stay. I was also astounded by the view from my room.

Falmouth Hospital Team: ‘A Tremendous Asset’
On Thursday, June 24, 2021, I had a stress test administered by Kristina Jarvis, NP, Melinda Morgenroth, Cardiac tech, and Megan Titus, MD.
There are no words to express my admiration and appreciation for their professional expertise, clarity of explanation and personal kindness.
They are an amazing team and a tremendous asset to your Falmouth Hospital staff. I thank them most sincerely.

Heartfelt appreciation for care and compassion at time of mother’s passing
To Director of Nursing at Falmouth Hospital,
Please accept my utmost gratitude for the outstanding nursing care my mother received while a patient at Falmouth Hospital. She was admitted to Room 413 on July 22, 2021, from the ED, and unfortunately died the evening of July 24 at 9 p.m.
The team of nurses led by Lora Tutuny, included Chris Fusco, Dawn Brewster and Julie Lombard. Each displayed genuine compassion from my mother, me and my family.
Julie was incredibly professional and openly caring at the time of my mother’s passing. She opened the window to release my mother’s spirit, a gesture I will never forget. Your team allowed me, literally, to hold my mother in my arms in her final moment of life. Please accept my heartfelt appreciation. Falmouth residents are very lucky to have nurses like this at our hospital.

Five stars for stress-free experience at Falmouth Hospital
I have been to Falmouth Hospital for two surgical procedures, a kidney stone removal and a hernia repair procedure. Each time admission was easy, the facility was spotless and the staff was caring, helpful and genuinely concerned that the experience should be as stress free as it could be. Some of the reviews on here allege the staff to be rude and condescending, and I found the opposite to be true. Of course, when I was there, my approach was that members of the staff deserve the same courtesy from me as I expect from them, and that approach opened all doors. I've had surgery at large city hospitals (in Boston and Washington, D.C.) and can honestly say, that Falmouth Hospital compares favorably to those giants. My heartfelt thanks to everyone there for making each procedure so easy.

Swift, Caring and Excellent Communication at VNA
Dear helpers at the Cape Cod VNA,
A most heartfelt thank you to all who aided me in my recovery from a broken pelvis. From Shiloh who came on a weekend when I got home to start my PT to Chelsea who saw me all the way through. Nurses Cindy and Bernice were wonderful throughout. Everyone worked as a team, was consistently professional, and personally helpful and encouraging.
A quick story—a week ago, I experienced signs of a UTI—but it was about 9 p.m. on a Friday night. I called your emergency number and the wonderful young man who answered listened to my symptoms. He had a nurse immediately call me. She then called my PC physician who gave the OK for Quest Lab. She then called me back to reassure me and to set up a clean catch at my home in the a.m. I had results (and relief) shortly thereafter. Swift, caring, excellent communication. Going to bed that night knowing that help would arrive 12 hours later was a great comfort—and she be commended.

Kind and professional patient-centered care

I am writing to let you know what an excellent experience I had with Amy Hultzapple as my physical therapist. She is very competent and professional, but also kind and caring. She listened to me and met me where I was in terms of my recovery making. Very helpful recommendations. Her optimistic encouragement and reassurance definitely contributed to the therapeutic process. As a medical professional, I very much appreciated her patient-centered care. I was also pleased with my experience with the VNA of Cape Cod. Our family can always count on Seaside Pediatrics
When I interviewed pediatricians back in 2008 while expecting my first child, I knew that Seaside Pediatrics was the right fit for our growing family. The staff was responsive, the physicians were experienced, the practice viewed parents as partners in their children’s medical care and they offered same-day appointments.
Little did I know that over 12 years and five children later, our partnership would be taken to a new level.
When we got the call to foster a newborn who suffered abuse in the form of Shaken Baby Syndrome in 2019, my first phone call was to your office. Knowing the amount of support, coordination of care, referrals, documentation and hand holding that we would need to give this child the best shot at recovery, I was certain that it would not be possible without a fully invested pediatric office. I remember clearly asking our practitioner at the time if she would commit to this journey with us and without hesitation, she responded, “Yes! That is what we are here for.”
And fully invested and here for us you have all been.
From taking my numerous phone calls on any given day (or night) about any of the five children in our care, to providing the nonstop paperwork and clinic notes required when providing foster care, to always fitting us into the schedule, even when that means seeing three children under three numerous times in the course of a week, to following up and checking in on us when we all had COVID and RSV run through us all, we all know that we can always count on you.
We never imagined having such a large and colorful family full of such challenging needs and never-ending medical appointments.
We are grateful for the role you have all played in caring for our children, in participating in our adopted children’s recovery, in advocating for children in foster care and for making our journey a whole lot easier.
