JML Earns Best Nursing Home RatingJML Earns Best Nursing Home Rating

JML Care Center recently earned the U.S. News & World Report designation of Best Nursing Home for 2021-22 in their annual review of skilled nursing facilities.

JML earned this recognition through U.S. News & World Report’s evaluation of more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide and is among the elite 13 percent of skilled nursing facilities that received a “High Performing” rating for long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. The national accolade is given only to those homes that satisfy U.S. News’ assessment of key services and consistent performance in quality and safety measures.

“I’m very proud of the JML team for receiving this recognition during such a tumultuous time in healthcare,” says Colleen Pino, Executive Director of JML Care Center. “They are amazing caregivers in all areas and this accolade is a testament to this level of superior care.”

The Falmouth-based nursing home serves a broad range of medical needs, including intensive rehabilitation following cardiac surgery or stroke and post-hospital care for orthopedic patients in addition to long-term skilled nursing. The center offers personalized treatment plans and improved outcomes.

Now in its 12th year, the U.S. News Best Nursing Homes ratings and profiles offer comprehensive information about quality of care, COVID-19 vaccination requirements for residents and staff, flu and pneumonia vaccination rates, and infection control violations listed on the resident safety summary.

The ratings of best long-term care facility include data on staffing, success in preventing ER visits and pneumonia vaccination rates. The short-term care rating incorporates quality measures, including consistency of registered nurse staffing and fall preventions.

“This national recognition is so well-deserved and shines a spotlight on JML’s outstanding staff who take care of short-term and long-term patients—and do it with a smile day in and day out,” said Michael Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare. “It’s a testament to the staff’s dedication and teamwork and to Cape Cod Healthcare’s commitment to providing high-quality and safe care in a compassionate setting.”

JML is supported by the full resources of Cape Cod Healthcare, including Falmouth Hospital and Cape Cod Healthcare physical/occupational therapists, and provides inpatient hospice services through the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod. The nationally recognized care team works closely with CCHC physicians and advance practice clinicians, who often have direct contact with patients staying at JML. In addition, the center is located on the Falmouth Hospital campus, which allows convenient access to exceptional care.

Kudos to our team at JML Care Center for earning this national recognition two years in a row!
