Introducing Cape Cod Healthcare Women’s Health – comprehensive care, close to home
Cape Cod Healthcare Women's Health is dedicated to comprehensive care for women of all ages
By Mike Lauf, president and CEO, Cape Cod Healthcare
Meeting the healthcare needs of our community means offering high quality care that meets our patients’ specific needs. Two years ago, we embarked on an effort to reimagine our service line formerly known as Women’s Services, with a focus on elevating awareness of the comprehensive network of physicians, clinical experts and services we offer to over 98,000 adult women on the Cape*.
In October 2020, we will introduce Cape Cod Healthcare Women’s Health, a highly focused line of services dedicated to providing comprehensive care for women of all ages, equipped with the latest technology and clinical expertise to support a woman’s needs that extend beyond Primary Care, including Breast Care, Gynecology, Pregnancy and Birth, Heart Health and Surgical Services – here on Cape Cod.
In the spirit of collaboration, we gathered input from our clinical experts, leaders and the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) and began to shape the system-wide network of offerings, starting with re-naming the service line as Women’s Health. We connected with patients willing to share their stories about the expert care they received here, along with their providers. We sought to reach all women in our community of Barnstable County, which statistically has the highest rates of breast and ovarian cancer in the state, with the services, clinical experts, technology, resources and education available to them.
Cape Cod Healthcare Women’s Health aims to deliver specialized care wherever a woman may be in her healthcare journey – whether seeking preventive health and wellness, managing a chronic condition or pursuing treatment for a serious illness. Our expert physicians and collaborative care teams are trained and experienced in the latest screening, procedures and treatments. We have invested in leading edge technology, such as 3D mammography and FAST breast MRI, to help our teams provide the best, evidence-based care for our patients.
As we embark on this new day for Women’s Health at Cape Cod Healthcare, we are sharing several elements of our year-long communications campaign with you. Please take a moment and explore these, including a series of TV ads featuring our patients, our new Women’s Health website section, and the Women’s Health Physician and Services Directory, a new go-to resource intended to help patients and providers navigate these specialized services for women of all ages, in all stages of their healthcare journey. For women on Cape Cod and beyond, our team is truly providing comprehensive care, close to home.
