A Message of Gratitude
By Mike Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare
As we enter into this holiday season, I wish to thank all of you for your dedication and service to our community, to our organization, to our patients, and to each other. Every member of Cape Cod Healthcare deserves to be recognized for your incredible contributions during a pandemic and all that has been associated with it for these past 20 months.
I hope that you take the time during this season to celebrate your accomplishments, to spend much-needed time with family and friends, and to reflect.
We, who have chosen to live and work on Cape Cod, have a very special opportunity to care for our community and to care for each other. While we may not always agree with what happens nationally, across the Commonwealth, or even locally, what we can celebrate is the profound importance of our mission and our dedication to it. Holidays are generally a time in which we are thankful for the incredible gifts that we possess. And this year, while we celebrate those blessings, we should also celebrate the gift that we have given to our community—the gift of health and healing.
We are so thankful that you have chosen to work with us and to help others. Being a healthcare provider is one of the most selfless acts in society today and we are honored to work with so many generous and caring people. You’ve dealt with so much, you have given so much, and we thank you so very much.
This pandemic has taken its toll on so many people and will likely be with us for some time. But, while it’s easy to dwell on the past and have concerns about what is to come, I would ask that you enter this holiday season with optimism based on the promises of the future. I hope that you take the time to enjoy these days, to enjoy these experiences and to know the incredible good that you have done.
I wish you, your families and your friends happiness and wellness at this special time of year. Please be safe and please be well.
Sincerely,
Mike
