Let’s make the most of summer! For the month of August, immerse yourself in nature by going on a meditative, guided walk in Brewster; discover unique artwork at the 53rd annual arts festival in Chatham; and take in the sights and sounds of the Amplify POC Summer Festival in Hyannis.

Forest Bathing

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents “Forest Bathing: Deepening our Relationship with Nature” with CCMNH Field Guide Carol Marcy.

Forest Bathing is about “swimming” in the living being of the forest and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History offers an opportunity to deepen your relationship with nature. This is a meditative practice and can be immensely healing. This guided walk will help show you how to pay attention in a new way. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles roundtrip over somewhat challenging terrain and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Check website for specific times.

Tickets are $12 per person.

The 53rd Festival of the Arts

10 a.m.-5 p.m., August 16-18
Chase Park, Chatham

The 53nd Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the Creative Arts Center, boasts 120 juried local and national artisans and craftsmen exhibitors. The premier summer arts event includes pottery, jewelry, photography, fabric, metal, stone, wood, and fine art. The festival is family friendly with a children’s tent offering face painting and art activities. Shuttle bus service is available at the Chatham Community Center, 702 Main St. and at the Creative Arts Center, 154 Crowell Road, and runs continuously. Food and refreshments served by gourmet food trucks. Free admission! For more information, call 508-945-3583.

Amplify POC Summer Festival

Saturday, August 31 (rescheduled from June)

Get ready for an unforgettable day of fun, community and celebration at the Amplify POC Summer Festival! Featuring unique local vendors, a variety of food options, live entertainment and kid-friendly activities, including face painting and a bouncy house.
