Super Twosday: Babies and Birthdays
For those who love numbers, 2/22/22 was an exciting and unique day. The date is known as a palindrome, meaning it reads the same forward and backward. Since it fell on a Tuesday this year, the day was quickly nicknamed “Twosday.” It’s so rare, a “Twosday” won’t happen again for another 400 years—in 2422.
Aside from these fun facts, the date carried extra special significance for parents and the maternity floor staff at Cape Cod Hospital.
When we reached out to Jennifer Lacasse, director of women’s and children’s services at Cape Cod Hospital, we were thrilled to learn that four babies were born on “Twosday” and one of the maternity nurses was celebrating a birthday. Three of the four families shared photos, and Alissa Krieger-Dewitt, a labor and delivery RN and the new Childbirth Educator at Cape Cod Healthcare, also shared a photo taken in New York City. Krieger-Dewitt celebrated her 2/22 birthday as an audience member at “The Drew Barrymore Show.” Congratulations to all of the parents and Happy (Belated) Birthday, Alissa!
Baby #1: Brandon and Kayla (Schultz) Keith of Sandwich, welcomed their first son, Landon Charles Keith, who arrived at 2:41 a.m. The family is no stranger to unusual birth dates. Landon’s older sister, Madison Rose, age 2, was born on Halloween. “We had such an awesome experience at Cape Cod Hospital from beginning to end,” says Brandon. “We are very blessed and I’m glad we picked Cape Cod Hospital to have Landon!”
Baby #2: Sofia Encalada and husband, Henry Narvaez welcomed daughter Fiorella at 8:25 a.m. on Tuesday. It’s their second baby and second girl.
Baby #3: Danielle Newcombe and John Enos of Yarmouth, both math teachers at Sturgis Charter Public School, welcomed their first child, John Frederick Enos Jr. at 10:48 p.m. Fun Fact: Because of visitor restrictions, Danielle’s parents, John and Margo Newcombe, tailgated in the hospital parking lot, cheering for the baby to be born, and held signs outside the maternity department that read, “We love you, Danielle” and “Come out, baby.”
Birthday Spotlight: Alissa Krieger-Dewitt, a labor and delivery RN and the new Childbirth Educator at Cape Cod Healthcare, celebrated her 2/22/22 birthday as an audience member at “The Drew Barrymore Show” in New York City. Every year, Drew celebrates her birthday by filling the entire studio audience with those who share the same special date with giveaways and surprises the entire hour. Guest Rachel Dratch and a surprise performance by The Go-Gos were part of the celebration!
