Patty Vigneau recently celebrated 20 years of service as a Retail Food Service Associate.

  1. Favorite on-the-job experience?

I don’t have just one. I’ve always been very social and this job gives me the opportunity to be social while I work. I love talking to people. This job is almost like being a bartender – people tell you their stories! I’m a retail kind of girl and I’ve always been a people person.
  2. If you could have another career, what would it be?

Don’t laugh – I would work with animals in a zoo. I wanted to be a vet when I was young. Everyone kind of discouraged me because of the amount of schooling that was required and the amount of work you’d have to do. But I did work in a pet shop. I just love animals!
  3. Favorite food?

Ice cream! I could eat that any time, all day. I wish it was good for you!
  4. What song do you hear and are blown away by?

I like Raise Your Glass by Pink. It really gets me going. She’s just so great. She speaks and it comes out like a song. She’s unbelievable.
  5. What’s the next thing on your to-do list?

My next thing to do – well, my mother-in-law just passed away. I’m going to make a butterfly garden in my yard in her honor. I’ve got the plants all ready to go, the pollinators… I’m ready to do it.
  6. Favorite pastime?

Reading. Give me a good book. I love James Patterson. I love murder mysteries. I like good stories, sci-fi – anything that takes me away. But I always go back to James Patterson.
  7. My favorite movie is _______ because..?

I really like the first Pirates of the Caribbean. It’s so entertaining and it’s so witty, the way it’s written. It’s a movie for all ages. I love it.
  8. What life advice would you give people?

Do more of what makes you happy and work to live, not live to work. So many people are interested in chasing money. I want to live and enjoy whatever I have.
  9. Do you have a high school regret?

I wish I had taken school more seriously. I did okay. I wish I did more. I was a good student, it just wasn’t my thrill. <laughs>
  10. Favorite saying?

“This, too, shall pass.” How appropriate is that during this day and age!
