Summer is in full bloom on the Cape! This month’s events celebrate art, music, culture, and community—from fireworks and festivals to garden tours benefiting Cape Cod and Falmouth hospitals, plus special employee appreciation nights at Cape Cod Baseball League games.

July 4-6 - Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow
10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily
483 Great Neck Road South Mashpee
Celebrate the rich culture and traditions of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe at the annual Powwow, held at the tribal headquarters in Mashpee. This three-day event features traditional dancing, drumming and storytelling, as well as Native American crafts, food vendors and games for all ages. Experience the powerful fireball ceremony, drum and singing contests, and a vibrant gathering that brings together generations of Indigenous communities and visitors from near and far.
July 15 & 18 - Cape Cod Healthcare Employee Appreciation Nights

July 11-20 - Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival
The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is an annual celebration of the region’s signature blue, pink and white flowers! The highlight of this 10-day event is the daily tours of private gardens, each uniquely designed and lovingly maintained by individual homeowners.
This year, several gardens in Falmouth, Harwich and Provincetown will be supporting both Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital.

Enjoy strolling through the beautiful gardens and supporting the hospitals at the same time!
Gardens are only one part of the festival. Take in workshops and lectures presented by leading horticulturalists, discover promotions at participating nurseries, sign up for an art class to learn how to paint hydrangeas or watch a painting demonstration by Cape Cod artists.
West African Drumming Class
Sunday afternoons, July 20, August 10 and September 7, 2-4 p.m.; Tuesday evenings, through September 30, 6-7 p.m.
Bring your drums, percussion, pots and pans—whatever you can express yourself with, be it percussion, sousaphone, stringed instruments, African drums, Caribbean drums, Asian drums, Native-American drums, Middle-eastern drums, Digeridoos and everything in between. Everyone should bring their own drums or let instructor Sam Holmstock know if you need one by emailing samholmstock@gmail.com. Cotuit Center for the Arts, 6-7:30 p.m. No experience necessary. Open to all.
In addition, a monthly community drumming drop-in circle will be held 2-4 p.m. every Sunday July 20, August 10 and September 7 at the Village Green Bandstand. For more information, visit Sam Holmstock Drumming.
Love Local Fest
Sunday, July 29, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Love Local Fest, organized by Love Live Local, is free and open to the public! The event features the work of 75-plus Cape Cod makers, artisans, artists, farmers and local businesses, along with local entertainment and opportunities to connect with the community. Located at Aselton Park, at the crossroads of South and Ocean Streets, overlooking Hyannis Harbor.
