From opening day at the Cape Cod Baseball League to classic cars, outdoor art and scenic summer runs, June brings a vibrant lineup of signature events celebrating the start of summer across Cape Cod.

Cape Cod Baseball League Opening Day

Saturday, June 13

The Cape Cod Baseball League kicks off its 2026 season on June 13 with opening day games across the Cape. This summer, CBS Boston will also launch a new broadcast partnership with the CCBL, televising weekly live games beginning June 27 on WSBK-TV. The Cape League Game of the Week will air Saturdays at 7 p.m., with a 30-minute pregame show, “Inside the Cape League,” beginning at 6:30 p.m. The six-game broadcast schedule runs through Aug. 1 and includes coverage of the league’s All-Star Game on Saturday, July 18, at Whitehouse Field in Harwich.

Greater Hyannis Chamber Father’s Day Car Show

Main Street, Hyannis

Celebrate Father’s Day surrounded by chrome, classics and Cape Cod charm at the annual Father’s Day Car Show on Main Street in Hyannis. One of New England’s largest family auto events, the popular tradition features more than 350 classic, antique, muscle, custom and specialty vehicles lining downtown Hyannis, along with music, shopping, dining and family-friendly fun throughout the day. Organizers expect tens of thousands of visitors for the free event, which concludes with an awards presentation at 1:45 p.m. on the Hyannis Village Green bandstand.

Art in the Park

Tuesday, June 16 - Friday, Aug. 14
Kate Gould Park, Chatham

Local artists have created vibrant, one-of-a-kind whale and shark sculptures, on display on the front lawn of Kate Gould Park for Art in the Park. These unique pieces will be auctioned to benefit the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and the Merchants Association, supporting local events such as Oktoberfest and Christmas by the Sea. Proceeds from the auction will also help support Chatham’s nonprofit organizations. Plus, check out Oars in the Stores through September 1, where local businesses host artist-designed oars in their storefronts.

Chatham Harbor Run 10K

Sunday, June 28
Start time: 8 a.m.
Monomoy Regional Middle School, 425 Crowell Road, Chatham

Kick off the summer with a scenic 6.2-mile run along the shore in Chatham. Sponsored by the Cape Cod Athletic Club, the annual Chatham Harbor Run starts and finishes near Monomoy Regional Middle School. Runners will enjoy stunning views of the Chatham Lighthouse, picturesque Shore Road and the iconic Chatham Bars Inn. Not up for running a full 10K? There’s also a two-person team relay option!
