Health Equity: Behind the Video
A new video featuring diverse voices of CCHC staff and our community reinforce why it’s important to update your demographic information in your medical chart.
“When we have a deeper understanding of the people we serve, we can better care for our diverse community.”
–Peterson P., a CCHC team member, “We Ask Because We Care” video
In the fall of 2023, nine Cape Cod Healthcare staff and community members participated in a professional video shoot to help educate the public on the importance of updating demographic information in a patient’s Cape Cod Healthcare medical chart. A team from CCHC Marketing Communications and Big Tree, a local video production company, met participants at video shoots in several locations, including Cape Cod Hospital, Falmouth Hospital, Osterville Primary Care, 297 North Street and the Cape Cod Canal to showcase the spectrum of diverse populations in our community that we serve.
The one-minute, 39-second video called “We Ask Because We Care,” features a variety of voices from our community to reinforce why it’s important to answer questions about your race, ethnicity, preferred language, disabilities, sexual orientation and gender identity. Your responses will help CCHC better understand the diverse patient population and where there may be gaps in care.
