By the Numbers: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
This October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as every day, Cape Cod Healthcare continued to reinforce the message that early detection saves lives. Throughout the month, we educated the community and providers about the importance of preventive breast care and the comprehensive services and expertise available through CCHC’s Breast Care Program. In addition to regular screening mammograms with the advanced technology of 3D mammography available at our Women’s Health centers, this year we also reinforced learning one’s breast cancer risk as another proactive part of breast health, utilizing BreastCancerAware, our new online health risk assessment and encouraging formal risk consultations at Cuda Breast Care Center at CCHC. Our education also included a virtual event, “Reducing Breast Cancer Risk through Lifestyle Behaviors,” presented by Dr. Kumara Sidhartha with an introduction by Dr. Jill Oxley.
Kudos to our dedicated teams who provide expert imaging, risk screening and high-risk guidance, patient navigation and surgical care for our community every day as part of CCHC’s Breast Care Program. Here’s a look back at October Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2021 By the Numbers:
